Google for finding MP3’s? Who knew?

So I was working on something the other day, and came across a site discussing the advanced searching techniques on Google, and decided to give it a whirl.. What I quickly found was that Google is AMAZING for searching for MP3s on the internet. I could sit and try to explain it all day long, but instead, I wrote this PGMS tool to make it easy to launch Google searches for music. If you want to see the specifics on what I searched for and how I formatted the search phrase, just run a search and read the search string. I’m purposly not scraping the screen and simply redirecting so that you can see the full results of what happens (that and Google would probably get pissed off if I scraped their results). Go bookmark the PGMS Tool and use it to launch searches for music. When you find a site with the MP3 you want, you should also check for common folder sorting stuff, like if the song is in “http : //url/mp3s/N”, chances are high that //url/mp3s contains a whole bunch of folders with a whole bunch of MP3s in each folder. Enjoy!

JimmyR was the author of the original video I based this on. I will be improving the tool with some additional search methodology that he uses on his equivilant of the PGMS tool at http://www.jimmyr.com/mp3.php

hmm, removed one of the ads to make it look less cluttered, but need to fix the site thing (was attempting to streamline it, broke it)
